My Recommendation: All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
Why did I pick this book? It’s the first book I pull out for visitors’ when they come to stay. And, so far, it’s been a hit with everyone.
What do I love about it? The author has a way with words that quickly sweeps you up and carries you through the 530 pages. The story itself is incredible, spanning decades and destinations, but it’s Doerr’s vivid descriptions that make this such a memorable novel.
What do I hate about it? Without giving too much away, the loss leaves you hanging…
Best read during? Periods of extended downtime. It’s not a quick read, but it’s worth the slog.
Value for money? Yes, especially as you’ll want to pass it around to friends and family.
How many stars would you rate it? 4.5/5
