There’s a new book club taking place in the city called the Festival Plaza Book Club courtesy of the plaza’s official book partner Booktopia.
It will take place at the Festival Plaza mall in Jebel Ali once a month with members of the community at cafes such as Jamaica Blue, Marks and Spencer, Tim Hortons, Cinnabon and more.
Joiners will also have the opportunity to meet keynote speakers and authors during the meet ups, and also get a discount on the chosen book at Booktopia.
Members will also be able to vote on the next read by visiting and following them on Instagram @dubaifestivalplaza and Twitter @dubaifestplaza
The launch event has already taken place last Saturday, but you can register here for the next one taking place next month. The first meet up included travel TV presenter, author and editor Sarah Hedley Hymers, alongside local authors Malar Balaji (The Book Lady), Colette Barr and Leona Collin, authors of Ecohereos, and Tayyab Anwar, author of Ramadan Around the World.
The books for the next months’ sessions will be announced soon so make sure you follow their news on the daily.
Event is free to attend. Registration is a must.
