Penguin Random House are known for their modern, simple and creative book covers, and book titles in general. And for those of us who are not based in the UK, Penguin hosts an annual competition for design students to design book covers. And it's great!
If you're a bibliophile like me, you're going to appreciate this.
The aim of this competition is to grant these students real life experience of receiving a book design brief and developing their concept all the way.
This year's award tasked participants with redesigning three popular bestsellers under three categories:
Adult Fiction Cover Award
The Night Manager by John le Carré
Adult Non- Fiction Cover Award
A Short HIstory of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson
Children's Cover Award
Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian
You can view the shortlist comprising 30 (out of a whopping 2,000!) designs in our gallery below, or directly on the award link here.
The final winners will be anounced on 22 September, 2020.
We can't wait!
