Creative Writing Competition for Young Writers
Voices of the Future Generations have opened the registration for the next creative writing competition!
Children and their families can register directly on the website link below until 21 March 2021.
Winning stories will get published and shared globally, while other shortlisted stories will be included in an anthology!
About VoFG:
Voices of Future Generations is a unique writing initiative launched in 2014 under the patronage of UNESCO, with HH Sheikha Hissa Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum as the Goodwill Ambassador for the initiative for the Gulf Region.
The writing competition aims to encourage young writers to engage with the Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child by incorporating one or more of them in their stories. The focus is on creativity and imagination, with stories focused on characters that overcome something, as all good adventure tales do.
Winners will have the chance to join a global council of prize-winning child authors, and have their work featured online and in inspirational books that will be sent to schools and libraries throughout the world.
In conjunction with the Emirates Literature Foundation, the competition is open to all and accepting entries in Arabic and English.
Since its launch, 12 books (one anthology of 8 stories and 11 individual books) have been published in hard copy and distributed globally.
Who can enter?
8 to 12 year-olds, in private education, government schools or home-schooled.
To all children resident in the U.A.E, including our children of determination.
What is the Prize?
Winning child authors will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals and certificates.
Winning stories (gold medalists) will get published at the discretion of the International Commission and their stories will be disseminated globally.
Teacher volunteers as Voices of Future Generations Champions will receive certificates and awards at the Voices of Future Generations for the Middle East Region Awards Ceremony.
The shortlisted stories will get published in a regional anthology by the Emirates Literature Foundation.
