My Recommendation: The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

Why did I pick this book? It was a book I found hard to put down once I started. It revealed to me so much about Afghanistan, the struggles during war, the challenges with expat life and the true ties that bind.

What do I love about it? How real it is, and how wonderfully the author makes you empathize with the characters.

What do I hate about it? Don’t really ‘hate’ anything about it, but some portions are disturbing and they can linger for a while in your head.

Best read during? The weekend

Value for money? Yes
