This publication offers a reflection, from an artistic perspective, on where the UAE has come from, where it is now, and where it is going.
The first volume, ie; The Art of the Emirates, was one of the first books to present the UAE’s contemporary artists, and features the various galleries, foundations and educators through which they have established themselves.
This new volume, The Art of the Emirates- II is the updated edition from the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation. With in-depth interviews and examples of the art being produced, The Art of the Emirates - II offers a closer look at some of the UAE’s flourishing and emerging artists, as well as a flavour of the art scene itself.
The Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, or ADMAF, is an essential part of Abu Dhabi’s cultural vision. Through arts education, community arts and special projects, ADMAF has been nurturing creativity across the UAE for more than two decades. Since its establishment by HE Huda I. Alkhamis-Kanoo in 1996, it has been at the forefront of the UAE’s arts sector, inspiring young people, the public and artists, enabling creative expression through a wide range of programmes and projects. By bringing together audiences and institutions, the Foundation has helped embed arts and culture in the heart of the nation.
It seeks to nurture the arts, education, culture and creativity for the benefit of society and the advancement of Abu Dhabi’s cultural vision.
