About the Author

Kate Dickens, a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel Development, has spent her career working for multinational organisations in Europe and the Middle East. Her association with the Middle East began in 1979, when she was assigned to a project team on secondment to ADNOC (the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) in the UAE. Previously a management consultant with one of the leading executive search and HR consulting firms in the Middle East, Kate is now an independent management consultant and writer, and has written a book on environmental protection for schoolchildren, which has been distributed to UAE schools.
