Locating a product
How do I locate a product? Use the “Search” function at the top of each page to search across all products with a particular keyword (eg: sand, thesiger etc.). Alternatively, in the catalogue area of the home page, use “advanced search” to find particular items or browse at your leisure through the drop-down list of product categories.
What is the difference between search and browse? Browse is a way of finding a product by checking different categories in a catalogue. Search is a way of finding a product using specific references like author name, title, ISBN etc.
What is an ISBN? ISBN stands for "International Standard Book Number." Every book sold anywhere in the world should have a unique ISBN, meaning you can find any book in the world simply with that one number, which is never duplicated. It's a 10-digit identification system. The ISBN refers to the specific edition (e.g. softback, hardback) and is usually located on the back of the book and on the copyright page.
How do I use advanced search? - If you are looking for something in particular, but don’t know any of the details insert a related word into the keyword section and press ‘search’. -A page will then appear with a list of possible matches, even if you have only inserted a partial word. -Choose the entry that matches what you were looking for,or search again with a different word. -Alternatively, if you know any of the details of the product you are looking for, you can enter them under “title”, “category”, “author” or “ISBN”. -The more details you use, the narrower your search.
Placing an order
How do I order a product once I have found what I’m looking for? -Once you have reviewed the details of the product you wish to buy, locate the ‘add to shopping cart’ button and click on it. At this stage, if you have not already logged-in as a user, you will be asked to do so. -You will then proceed to a 'shopping cart' page, where you should check you have ordered the right number and type of product. You can then decided to either ‘continue shopping’ and add more items, or proceed to ‘check out’
What is ‘shopping cart’? Shopping cart is a virtual holding place for any products that you have selected from our online store. If you are registered with us, ‘shopping cart’ will hold all the products you select until you reach ‘check out’. You can access this area at any time during your visit to www.booksarabia.com by clicking on the shopping cart icon at the top or bottom of every page.
Can I save a product to buy later? Yes. At the order page, simply click on ‘move to wish list’ and the product will removed from your ‘shopping cart’ to be saved until your next visit, or up to 90 days later.
What is a ‘wish list’? This is where you can compile a list of all the products that you are interested in, until you are ready to purchase or remove them. When you are ready to buy the product, just click on ‘move to cart’. If you’ve decided to delete the product, click ‘remove’. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide this function for any of our original art works or rare and antiquarian books.

PUBLISHING WITH MOTIVATE
Submission Guidelines
Motivate Publishing is happy to consider any project that you think will fit in with our current list. We are always open to exploring new avenues. Please follow the guidelines below:
I have a great idea for a book. How can I get it published by Motivate? Send us a covering letter, synopsis and sample material to:
Submissions Books Department Motivate Publishing P.O. Box 2331, Dubai United Arab Emirates
What should my covering letter contain? Firstly, we would like to know a little bit about you and your background; who you are, where you come from, and whether you have any specific experience with the type of project you’re proposing. Secondly, we really want to see that a project has been thought through from start to finish; how you think your project will fit with Motivate, have you researched your target markets, both in the UAE and elsewhere?
What should my synopsis contain? This should be a simple breakdown of your project and its contents chapter-by-chapter, or section-by-section. This need only be 2 or 3 pages, but should act as a general overview, even if you have supplied all the material for us to consider too.
I’ve started producing something but I haven’t finished it yet. Can I still send it to you? Yes. In the case of text, we generally prefer to receive only the first 3 chapters anyway, but we will consider whatever you have.
Do you accept book proposals by e-mail? We prefer to receive hardcopies of material. Please either submit your proposal by mail at the above address or download and fill in the online proposal form here and fax it to us at +971 (0) 4 282 0428.
When will I hear back from you? It takes approximately 6-8 weeks for us to process any submission. We will either contact you to arrange a meeting to further discuss your project, or issue you with a standard rejection notice and our apologies.
Can I talk with someone directly about my project? Unfortunately, with such a busy department it is impossible for us to meet with every person who has come up with an idea for a book. We’d appreciate your cooperation in upholding these submission guidelines and ask that you be patient and wait for us to get back to you in due course.
You have rejected my project. Can I ask you why? This is at the discretion of the book publishing manager. Often we do not have time to write a detailed reply. Our decision, however, must be treated as final.
Will you return my submission? If you wish to have any material returned, please include a self addressed envelope and your telephone number. We do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage caused to material submitted to us, either during transportation to, or circulation within our offices.
